A
two-hour drive from Cape Town takes you through the picturesque
fields and country towns of Caledon and Napier, to Bredasdorp. Close
by are many places of interest: Arniston, De Hoop Nature Reserve,
Elim, whale-watching spots, de Mond (for the birders) and Cape
Agulhas (the tip of Africa), making Bredasdorp a very central place
from which to explore the Overberg area.
Annie’s Country Cottages are five minutes away from a great
nine-hole golf course (the southernmost in Africa) and the
Heuningberg Nature Reserve with its hiking trail. This reserve is
home to over 200 endemic plant species. The interesting
shipwreck-museum and some excellent restaurants are also close by.
For birders, blue cranes are a feature of this area.
Annie’s Country Cottages are two thatched self-catering units
situated in a quiet area of Bredasdorp: The Cottage (built in 1856)
has two double bedrooms and The Annex has one double bedroom with a
further two beds in the loft. A pretty garden separates the two
cottages, each with their own outdoor entertainment areas. Both
cottages are tastefully decorated and well equipped with all the home
comforts including Satellite (Compact) DSTV. |
